Ganderbal, Jan 06 (KNO): With heavy snowstorm warnings in effect across the region, the Ganderbal Police have been at the forefront to ensure the safety and well-being of both tourists and locals. Specially trained teams have been deployed to assist those stranded in remote and high-altitude areas, particularly in popular tourist spots such as Sonamarg, Gund, and Kangan. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), “We understand the difficulties people face during these harsh conditions. Our teams are working around the clock to assist anyone in distress, whether it’s guiding tourists to safety or helping stranded vehicles. Public safety is our top priority.” Tourists have expressed their gratitude for the police's swift response. A tourist from Delhi, Sandeep shared, “We were stuck on our way to Sonamarg, and the Gund police arrived quickly to help us out. Their professionalism and care have made a huge difference in this difficult situation.” The police are advising travelers to avoid unnecessary journeys and remain vigilant in case of emergencies. They are also urging people to stay informed about local weather conditions to prevent any accidents.
